Died Thursday afternoon June 6, 2019 at her residence. Cherie was born February 6, 1938 in Cadillac, Michigan a daughter of William Martin Sr. and Francis Cass. She graduated from Mattawan High School in 1956. She married Clifford Ransler in 1957 raising their two children Tina and Scott. Cherie was a self-employed cosmetologist. In 1978 Cherie became a Florida resident, where she remarried to Ronald LaPalm. Cherie was employed as a public-school bus driver for 10 years before retiring. She returned to the Kalamazoo area in 2011. Cherie was an active outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband, her stepson, and several siblings. Cherie is survived by 3 children, Tina (Brian) Harden, Scott (Katherine) Ranlser and Cheryl (Joe) Miles; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; her former spouse, Clifford Ransler; several brothers and sisters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at 10am Thursday, June 13th from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI. Service will follow visitation at 12pm on Thursday. There will be a gathering for family and friends following the service at Alamo Community Congregational Church 7925 N 6th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
