Passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 2016. Char was born October 30, 1947 in Kalamazoo the daughter of George and Jacoba (VanLoo) Peters. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 35 years in the accounting department at the Upjohn Company. Char enjoyed quilting, cross-stich, bowling, and playing golf. On June 8, 1968 she was united in marriage to her loving husband of nearly 48 years, Thomas Stohrer, who survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Catherine Stohrer and Karen Stohrer; brother and sister, Robert Peters and Donna Hushower; and several nieces and nephews. Char was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Barbara Bommersbach. A memorial service to celebrate Char's life will be held at 2:00pm Friday, May 6 at Bethany Reformed Church, 1833 S. Burdick. Private family interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
