Died Monday evening December 14, 2015. Charles was born June 14, 1931, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Charles C. and Aurilla (Wheaton) Glasner. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. Charles graduated with his masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan. Upon his graduation, he was employed by Gove and Associates where he worked for over 50 years, becoming a Principle/Partner and retiring in 2006. Charles was also a member of the Kalamazoo Optimist Club and the Kalamazoo Rotary Club. In 1971, Charles became interested in flying, earned his pilot license, and enjoyed many years flying for business and recreation, owning two different planes. As a U of M Alumni, he was a season ticket holder (football) and huge fan of the Michigan athletic program. He never missed a football game, including this year. Charles loved to travel and spend time up North at the cabin. Charles and his sister traveled to Yellowstone National Park & the Grand Tetons every year since 1988. He also bowled for many years on the Kalamazoo Optimist bowling league. Charles also loved golfing and spent many hours on the golf course. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Phyllis Tracy on March 7, 2015. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Debra Thrasher of Kalamazoo, Douglas (Dixie) Tracy of Delton, and Scott (Tessa) Thrasher of Kalamazoo, Tracy Thrasher of Kalamazoo, and Leandra Tracy. He is also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private interment will be held in Mt. Home Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the University of Michigan Victors Club or to Yellowstone National Park Association.
