FELTCH, Carolyn M.
Of Galesburg Carolyn passed away early Monday morning, July 5, 2010 at Borgess Gardens. She was born October 22, 1925 in Bensenville, IL, the daughter of Fred and Matilda Peterson Deiber. She owned and operated the Beauty Nook Salon in Galesburg for 10 years. Carolyn was a member of Galesburg Congregational United Church of Christ. She taught at State College of Beauty in Kalamazoo and managed Mahoney's retail store in Battle Creek. Carolyn then became an active member of the Downtown Business Association in Battle Creek and helped organize the Cereal City Festivals, including the hot air balloon launch. Most important to Carolyn was her family who she loved dearly. Preceding her in death were her husband of 49 years, Robert Feltch; daughter, Lynne Gleesing; her parents; and two brothers, Harvey Nelsen and Fred Deiber. Surviving are two children, Bob Sandy Feltch and Linda Mike Pierman both of Galesburg; son-in-law, Don Gleesing of Lyons, CO; eight grandchildren, Donny Gleesing, Debbie Marshall Larsen, Cathy Todd O'Donnell, Cayla Gleesing, Mick Vicky Pierman, Jamie Shawn Gibson, Jim Breann Feltch and Jeremy Feltch; several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Carolyn will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street, with Rev. Whitney Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
