Carl Lee Dennany

Carl Lee Dennany passed away Tuesday morning, July 12, 2022, at his home. He was born April 1, 1956, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was the son of Michael and Virginia (Buell) Dennany and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo.

He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1975. Sometime after that he attended college. Not too long later he found himself joining the US Army in 1977. He worked hard and worked his way up the ranks. In 1980 he was honorably discharged. Then, after Carl had a few manager jobs, he found himself going back to his roots. That's when he took over his family business, Dennany Roofing. Over the next 40 years the business was a success until his retirement in about 2010. Carl was a family man. He went above and beyond for his family. The true meaning of his life belonged to his grandkids. He truly did everything and anything for those kids.

Carl was proceeded in death by his parents. On March 18, 1980, Carl married the former Katherine S. Wise, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Virginia (Brent) Towers, Ashley (Travis) Johnson, Amanda Dennany (Mike Bellew), and Stacy (Trevor) Esman; and eight grandchildren, Brycen, Brionna, Desi, Baby Brent, Amiyah, Brooklin, Gabe, and Jordynn.

Visitation will be held 1-2pm Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009, where services will begin at 2pm. Committal services with military honors will be held 1:30pm Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should be in the cemetery assembly area by 1:15pm.
