WESTER, Betty N.
Of Kalamazoo Betty, a loving and wonderful mother, passed away early Friday morning, February 25, 2011 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born September 16, 1923 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Chauncey and Eunice Baker Knapp. Betty worked for the Kalamazoo County Draft Board and Western Michigan University and was a member of Stockbridge Ave. United Methodist Church. On April 16, 1955, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Wester. Surviving are 3 children, Ronald Hope Wester of Kalamazoo, Christine Roger Subacz of Gobles and Thomas Wester of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren, Benjamin Subacz, Jonathan Subacz, Elise Subacz, Heather Haan-Wester, and Justin Aubrey Grey Wester; 2 great-grandchildren, Austin and Emily Wester; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years, Lloyd, on May 23, 2009; her parents; 3 sisters, Genevieve Davey, Ilah Knapp, and Beverly "Yvonne" Miller; and 1 brother, Paul Knapp. Funeral services for Betty will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, with Rev. Ron Slager officiating, where friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until the time of services. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Stockbridge Ave. United Methodist Church.
