Of Portage Passed away Tuesday evening, January 4, 2011. Barb was born May 9, 1935 in Union City, IN, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude Collins Hooper. She was a registered nurse for over 40 years and spent her life taking care of others. Barb worked at Bronson Hospital for 26 years, and also spent several years working at Allegan and Pipp Hospitals. She was an avid reader and just enjoyed having fun with her family and friends. Barb is survived by her children, Marilyn Bohn, Daniel Colleen Stone, Michael Kim Stone; 6 grandchildren, Abby, Wesley, Karen, Sarah, Travis, and Samantha; a great-grandchild, Zoe Moya; her mother, Gertrude Hooper; a sister, Jane Jim Smith; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles; and longtime friend, Donna Fischer. A memorial service to celebrate Barb's life will be held at 11:00 o'clock Saturday, January 8, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Friends may meet the family from 10:00 o'clock until the time of service. Private interment will be at a later date in Hicks Cemetery.
