Died Tuesday evening, December 29, 2015. Barbara was born December 17, 1928, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, a daughter of Simon and Rebecca (Segel) Bennett. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 12 years and was employed with Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Massachusetts for 20 years before retiring. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murray C. Schwartz on October 20, 2010; a daughter, Carol; a brother, Warren Bennett; and a sister, Irma Mednicoff. She is survived by a daughter, Julie Evans Little of Portage; 3 sons-in-law, David Little of Portage, Thomas Evans of Kalamazoo, and Stan Fudala of Philadelphia, PA; 4 grandchildren, Victoria (Tyler) Jackson, Matthew, Adam, and Hana; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 o'clock Sunday, January 3 in Mt. Home Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure or the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
