Audrey Marie Hopkins, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Bronson Commons in Mattawan, MI. She was born on November 24, 1922 in Hartford, MI the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Kelly) Brown. On August 3, 1939 Audrey married Verlynn L. Hopkins who preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary Hopkins; a great-grandson, William E. Benyo; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Hillman; a son-in-law, John Weber; three sisters, Oneta Bigelow, Vivian Schultz and Madeline Hoyt; and a brother, Jim Brown. Surviving are three daughters, Ruth (David) Gray of Lakeland, FL, Shirley Weber of Paw Paw, MI and Bobbi (Tom) Frohner of Sandusky, MI; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hopkins of Imperial, CA; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Louise Brown of Benton Harbor, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
