Of Paw Paw Passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2011 at her residence after a long, courageous, and determined battle with cancer. Ann was born May 25, 1949 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Victor and Jane Burns Kimmel and had been a lifelong resident in the Paw Paw area. She received her master's degree from Western Michigan University and was the retail manager for the Gift Loft furniture store from 1971-2010. Ann had a strong faith in God and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Paw Paw. She loved dogs, especially her Kerry Blue Terriers. Ann loved spending time with her family and friends; she was thoughtful, caring, and loving, which was evident while taking care of her parents in their later years. On May 27, 1989, Ann was united in marriage to her loving husband, John Stewart, who survives. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Ann Phil Weydener; special friends, Mary Jo and Art Kelley, Barbara Patterson, Julie Mattison and Keith and Cathy Reed; and several close cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 o'clock Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 209 S. Brown St. in Paw Paw with Fr. Joseph Xavier, Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street in Oshtemo.
