Alice Joyce Jansma

JANSMA, ALICE J. Alice Joyce Jansma, age 81, went home to be with her Lord on December 2, 2014. Alice was born September 4, 1933 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Richard and Jennie Dykehouse Klepper. On August 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to Rev. Donald E. Jansma. Throughout the years Alice enjoyed serving with Don in the ministries where he was currently serving. She received her Master's Degree from Drake University and had served as a special education teacher in different school systems throughout the country. Alice also enjoyed serving others and especially baking those special treats to share. The most important part of her life was caring for and spending time with her family. Surviving are husband, Donald E. Jansma; their three children, Jill Jansen, Jeff Tracy Jansma and Jerry Dana Jansma; seven grandchildren, Jodi Mat Keske, Tyler, Lauren, Trevor, Drew, Lindsay and Kollen Jansma; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Owen Keske; a sister, Reanetta DeYoung. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Klepper. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Saturday, December 6th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo. A Memorial Celebration of Alice's Life will be held 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 7th at Fellowship Reformed Church, 300 N. 168th Street, Holland. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 8th at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park North on Drake Rd. in Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions in Alice's memory may be to Elim Christian School, 13020 S Central Ave, Palos Heights, IL, 60463.
