Alice (VanMeekeren) Doorlag

Went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday afternoon, December 6, 2019. Alice was born March 5, 1930 in Hollandale, MN the daughter of the late Herman and Tena (Lewerke) VanMeekeren. She attended Grace Christian Reformed Church and was a current member of Haven Christian Reformed Church in Zeeland. Alice enjoyed all things birds, gardening and spending time with her family. In 1948, she was united in marriage to Andrew VanderStoep, who preceded her in death in 1951. On June 26, 1958 she married Henry Doorlag, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a brother and sister, William VanMeekeren, and Lorene Rietsema. Alice is survived by her children, Linda (Kenneth) Bosma, Debra (Kevin) Bosch, Mark (Leslie) Doorlag; 11 grandchildren, Andrew (Devin) Bosma, Melissa (Trevor) Bushhouse, Rev. Jon (Allie) Bosma, Kelly (Richard) VanderLaan, Christopher (Rhea) Bosch, Erika (Rev. TJ) South, Allison (Mark) Rowe, Timothy Bosch, Eva Doorlag, Jack Doorlag, Cole Doorlag; 3 great-grandchildren, Ella, Mila, and Colton; sisters and brother, Bertha Koetje, Tena VanMeekeren, Peter (Judy) VanMeekeren, Jane (Gary) Meelker; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 13 at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Rd with her grandsons, Rev. Jon Bosma and Rev. TJ South officiating. Friends may meet the family from 5-7pm Thursday, December 12 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 and from 10:00-11:00am Friday morning at the church. A time of fellowship will follow the service and interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Zeeland Christian School or Ann Arbor Christian School.
