Mielko was like family to us. She came regularly to help with Gary’s care. She is disciplined and gave us tips on how to handle various aspects of his care. She also listened as we shared our journey and struggles as Gary’s illness progressed. Mielko is so skilled at her job and has the perfect personality which we could easily relate to. We even laughed at times. A special moment was watching Mielko help Gary move from the bed to the bathroom. She would walk backwards while holding his hands and encouraging him one step at a time (as I walked behind him). She made it easy and the whole family liked her. I highly recommend Mielko to receive the Langeland Hospice Caregiver Award.
